The Sales Engineer will be responsible for working together with the International Sales team and the post sales engineering group, informing current and potential customers of the capabilities of Wave7’s FTTx system. The Sales Engineer will also work close with Wave7 Optics’ customers and business partners to ensure a successful integration into the proposed network. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Candidate will perform the following duties: · Manage the initial trial installations of the FTTx system into the customer or business partner’s network, including: o Provide customer training and presentations on the architecture of Wave7’s FTTx product o Providing support for all customer activities and issues encountered during the installation period o Assist with the development of technical field documentation necessary for customer installations including acceptance test plans. · Assist in the Request for Proposals (RFP) process including the development of responses and presentations as required · International travel requirements over 60% QUALIFICATIONS Candidate must have the following skills: · BSEE preferred or industry equivalent · 5 to 10 years technical experience in the operation, maintenance, construction, design and troubleshooting of access networks · Minimum of 5 yrs. of design, implementation, and troubleshooting of optical IP Ethernet data networks including multi-protocol switch routers of Cisco, Extreme and Juniper required · Understanding of CLI, DNS, DHCP, NAT, NTP, RADIUS is highly desired · Specific knowledge should be subset of MGCP, IGMP, TCP/IP, and SNMP protocols · Experience with customer acceptance test plans and ability to plan, launch, and execute the test activities · Effective communication skills for a highly customer interactive assignment · The candidate should also be familiar with telephony systems including T1 and VoIP, the integration with gateways and telephony switch systems and IP Video
